Submissions are currently open for Wander: A Creative Odyssey!
Already know the drill? Go straight to poetry or prose submissions, or go straight to art or photography submissions.

What We're Looking For:
The Odyssey Youth Literary Magazine is looking for adventure. Whether that be an adventure through your emotions, an adventure through your carefully crafted words, or a journey through the story that was meticulously put together – we just want an odyssey.
What We Are NOT Looking For:
Of course, we love to take adventures. However, adventures can sometimes go awry, so let's clarify some things before we embark to keep our journey a pleasant one!
We will not accept works that honor violence or hatred. We will not accept works that contain religious topics or politics.
Now That We've Got That Covered...
Seriously, how do I submit?
We hear you, and we've got you covered.
Before we accept your piece, it's important to note that we do not accept simultaneous submissions. If your piece has already been published or submitted elsewhere, we will unfortunately not accept it.
We also ask that if you submit with us, you do not submit the piece anywhere else until after we have published it. That's the short explanation, but if you'd like the long one:
We request that The Odyssey has First North American Serial Rights. Never fear, you'll get the rights back once it's published! If your work get published with us and later down your odyssey you decide you'd like to publish that same piece with someone else, we ask that you give us credit as your original site of publication!
The Big Question: How Do I Submit?
We applaud your patience and thank you for your interest in submitting to us. Here are our guidelines:
* If you have multiple submissions with us (example: you are submitting both prose and poetry for the same issue), please fill out both the poetry form and the prose form. The same rule still applies if you are submitting both poetry and prose: no more than 3 poems, no more than 3 proses. To clarify, you can submit 6 pieces per issue, 3 poems and 3 prose. For art and photography, this is the same, you must fill out both forms if you would like to submit both.
*If your work is not chosen, we kindly request that you don’t submit your work again until submissions for our next issue opens.
*Please only submit pieces that follow our regulations. No violence, politics, hatred, religion, or descriptive brutality. If your work contains these, it will be rejected. Please make sure your work is suitable for all ages, and especially for a younger audience.
*Submission deadlines are on Eastern Standard Time (EST) and if submissions close on a date (let’s use an example of submissions closing on February 12th) then when it hits 12 a.m. and turns February 12th, submissions are closed. So, submissions close at 12 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
*Please provide a brief third-person bio when you submit. If you are accepted, this third-person bio WILL be published along with your work, so please be mindful of that when you are creating it.
*We ask that you write a cover letter. Instructions are below.
*Don't let any of this deter you. Have fun and put your best foot forward! Remember that if you have any questions or would like us to clarify something, you can reach out to us! We're not scary, don't worry. We're here to help!
To help you with your cover letter, you may copy, paste, and fill out the cover letter template found in each form that we have provided for your convenience.
