The Odyssey Youth Literary Magazine was one of those ideas where you just think, 'This feels like the one.' The one idea that you just go for, the one idea that you start looking up your questions online and start to form an idea in your head, a vision almost.
I realized that there were so many teen poets and writers online (social media, specifically) that were eager and excited to share their writing. As a self-published teen author myself, I understand where they are coming from. However, they were looking to broaden their horizons and expand past social media. They wanted to have their work published in literary magazines. All I wanted to do was to help teen writers, authors, and poets, have their time to shine. To give them the spotlight and let them share their talents. So, I embarked on the journey of creating the Odyssey. It was a spur-of-a-moment type idea, but I'm grateful that it was possible for me to able to do this.
Of course, I never would be able to do it without my wonderful team. They are amazing!
