The Beginning of the Odyssey

Welcome to The Odyssey Youth Literary Magazine. We have one mission: to help teen authors share their work! We are elated to get the chance to work with them and get their writing the recognition it deserves.

In honor of our lovely new literary magazine, let's start off with 5 reasons why you should get published with The Odyssey Youth Literary Magazine.

1. If you're a high school student, it would look pretty nice on a college resume! Letting colleges know your work has been published in a literary magazine is pretty cool, if you ask me. I'm pretty sure the colleges will think so too.

2. Getting your work published is just plain exciting! Getting to see your work chosen and published is a pretty surreal experience.

3. If you are applying for a position elsewhere (maybe you want to work as an editor for another magazine, or somewhere else that involves writing) the more experience you have in the writing department, the more they are likely to hire you!

4. Even if you don't get published, you still have lovely writing that you could submit elsewhere! There are tons of other awesome literary magazines; if you didn't get chosen, keep submitting and see what happens!

5. We are willing to help you out! If you are nervous, if you don't understand the guidelines, or if you're just plain confused, reach out to us and ask your question! So long as you're respectful, we will get to answering the question as quick as we can!
